I'm glad to here your trying it out. If it bogs
at low end, it's too rich. But with the main jet
selection, your trying to get the most out of the
top end. Mid range and low end are improved by
adjusting the needle position, float height, and pilot
jet. Get a new plug or a few new plugs. If after
installing one and running at full throttle for about
100 yards, the plug is sooty, you need to go down
main jet. Keep doing it and cleaning off the plug
each time until it runs a tan color and pulls fucking
hard at full throttle. Then it's perfect. Next is
roll on pull to full throttle from middle range RPM.
Adjust the needle position up to richen it up and
down a clip to lean it out. If there aren't clips
on the Euro carb, you'll have to add or remove spacers.
If it's boggy, it's too rich, if it doesn't pull hard
as hell, it's too lean. Next try to adjust idle/cruising
speed with the fuel mixture screw. Otherwise you
have to adjust the float height. Measure from the
bottom of the carb with the bottom cover off to the float.
A smaller measurement will be richer and vice versa.
Try going one mm at a time. Hopefully, and most
likely, you'll only need to mess with the main jet
and the mixture screw and remove the white spacer
if you have one or adjust the needle up a clip if
you have that adjustment(I'm not familiar with the
Euro carb but CV carbs are all pretty similar).
Zodiac can give you advice if you like. He sure
wrote up some meaningful advice didn't he? He must
know a hell of a lot more about carbs then me since
I'm so full of bullshit. Obviously he doesn't know
shit since he hasn't written anything about carbs.
In fact he's probably reading this and taking notes.
